85 Temporary workers
needed in Judsonia, AR from approximately May 27, 2017 - August 12, 2017. Workers must be 18 years or older. Following supervisors' instructions workers will manually plant, cultivate, harvest, prune blueberry and blackberry bushes using pruning shears and loppers. Pick mature, firm, unblemished blackberries in 6,8 & 12 cup trays and blueberries in 1 gallon pails. Must pick the following number of trays of blackberries: 3.25 (12-1/2 pints): 3.1 (8-1 pint) 2.8 (6- 11/2 pints): 1.4 (12-1? pints) or 3 gallons of blueberries per hour to retain job after 1 day training & 6 days of work. Picking quality standards apply. Harvest grapes. Field clean-up. Piecework incentives are available. Clean, adjust and repair machinery and implements, oiling moving parts and replacing damaged parts.
The majority of the day is spent on one’s feet and outdoors and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold and natural elements. Workers must be able to stand, sit, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from waist), push, pull, reach, lift and carry items from 5 to 60 pounds in the course of performing required activities. All tools, supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Transportation payment will be no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier charges. If the employee is unable or unfit to perform the duties listed after the 14 day pretrial, they will receive warnings or terminated. A copy of the work contract or ETA 790 and any modifications, will be provided to the worker on the day the work commences. Workers will be paid $10.38 per hr or the applicable piece rates depending on the crop activity, three fourth’s guarantee, 35 hrs per week, housing, equipment and transportation provided at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end
of each work day. Due to possible Date of Need changes, workers is required to purchase travel insurance if available. We will reimburse the worker for transportation cost (including travel insurance) and subsistence to the employers' work site from the place of recruitment upon completion of 50 percent of the contract period or earlier if appropriate. This employer may participate in the E-Verify program and workers must have valid identification for I-9 preparation when they report to begin work.
